Who we are

Greentech Scotland is a commercial electrical, fire, security and renewable energy contractor based in Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire, serving commercial and industrial clients across Scotland.

For any question about this policy or how your information is handled, contact us at enquiries@gt-scot.co.uk or on 01236 368846.

Information we collect

We only collect what we need to respond to your enquiry and deliver work. That normally includes:

  • Contact details you give us — name, company, email address, telephone number.
  • Enquiry details — the site address, the scope of works, tender references, return dates, and the message you send us.
  • Documents you upload with a tender enquiry, such as drawings, specifications and bills of quantities.
  • Correspondence with us by email, telephone or through this website.
  • Technical information generated when you use this website, including the pages you visit and the browser you use.

How and why we use it

We rely on legitimate interests to respond to business enquiries and to assess tender opportunities — it is in both our interests to answer a commercial request for work. Where we enter into a contract with you, we process your information to perform that contract and to meet our legal obligations, such as health and safety, tax and construction records.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your details for automated decision-making or profiling.

Who we share it with

We share information only where necessary to deliver the work or run our business. This may include specialist subcontractors and consultants working on your project, our IT and cloud service providers, our professional advisers, and insurers or legal advisers where a claim arises.

We may also share information with public authorities where we are legally required to do so, for example in relation to building standards, health and safety, or the prevention of crime.

Where your information is held

Our systems and service providers are primarily based in the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area. Where a provider processes information outside those areas, we put appropriate safeguards in place, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to a project are normally kept for up to 24 months so we can pick up the conversation if it returns. Project records, including certification, inspection reports and financial records, are retained for up to 7 years after completion to meet contractual, insurance and statutory requirements.

Where you ask us to delete information and we have no legal reason to keep it, we will do so.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you have the right to be informed, to access a copy of your information, to have inaccurate information corrected, to have information erased, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, email enquiries@gt-scot.co.uk. We will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or to us first if you would prefer.

Security

We use access controls, encrypted transfer and restricted internal permissions to protect the information we hold. Tender documents and drawings are held in private storage and are only accessible to the members of our team who need them to assess your enquiry.

Cookies

This website uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies. These are described in our Cookie Policy.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services or the law change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last reviewed.
