EV chargepoint installation in Scotland

EV charging

EV charging grants and funding

EV charging funding for homes, landlords, businesses and organisations. The routes are targeted rather than universal, and each one has conditions on parking, vehicles, consent and timing.

Greentech surveys the site, assesses the supply, designs the installation and delivers it — then manages and maintains it.

Seven ways in

Where are you charging?

Charging support follows the parking, not the person. A driveway, an allocated bay, a shared car park and a street each lead to a different route — or to no route at all, which we will tell you before you spend anything.

Status, dates and support levels come from our central funding database. A closed window is shown as closed, never as an open opportunity.

Government chargepoint grant

Active

EV chargepoint grant for households with eligibility requirements

A grant route for people who rent, or who own a flat, and who therefore cannot use the standard homeowner chargepoint grant. It contributes towards an eligible chargepoint at a property with eligible private parking.

Designed for
Tenant, Flat owner
Potential support
Up to 350 pounds per eligible chargepoint, within published scheme limits.
Key considerations
Renters and flat owners, with off-street private parking at the property, an eligible vehicle, permission from the landlord or freeholder where required, and an eligible installer. The grant must be approved before installation starts.

Government infrastructure grant

Details pending confirmation

EV infrastructure grant for staff and fleets

A grant route aimed at the enabling infrastructure behind multiple chargepoints - the cabling, containment and distribution work that makes a larger installation possible - rather than the chargepoints themselves.

Designed for
Business, Charity, Public-sector organisation, Fleet operator
Potential support
Published as a percentage of eligible infrastructure cost, subject to a cap.
Key considerations
Eligible organisations with off-street parking and a planned multi-chargepoint installation. The infrastructure works and the chargepoints are assessed under the scheme's own rules.

Government chargepoint grant

Details pending confirmation

Landlord chargepoint support

Support for residential landlords and property portfolio holders installing charging at let properties or developments. The routes available to landlords have been restructured more than once, so the currently open route is confirmed per project.

Designed for
Landlord, Business
Potential support
Published per-chargepoint support, subject to the route in force.
Key considerations
Landlords and portfolio holders with eligible off-street parking, an eligible property, tenant or resident use, and installation by an eligible installer after approval.

Local authority chargepoint funding

Details pending confirmation

On-street residential chargepoint funding (local authority led)

Funding for residential on-street charging is generally awarded to local authorities rather than to individual residents. Where a council has secured funding, residents apply through the council's own process, and the council sets the rules.

Designed for
Homeowner, Tenant, Flat owner, Landlord, Public-sector organisation
Potential support
Set by the local authority's own award.
Key considerations
Determined by the local authority's own scheme, the street, the footway and the property. Cross-pavement solutions, where permitted, also require council approval and may require planning permission.

Public-sector grant and loan

Details pending confirmation

Public sector decarbonisation and Salix funding

Capital support routes for public bodies and education estates decarbonising their buildings and estates, including heating, fabric and some electrical infrastructure. Applications are made by the public body, often with a technical feasibility study.

Designed for
Public-sector organisation, School / education provider, Charity
Potential support
Set by the funding programme and by the estate's application.
Key considerations
Public-sector bodies and eligible education institutions, applying through the scheme's own process, usually with a feasibility study and a quantified carbon saving.

Government chargepoint grant

Active

Workplace Charging Scheme

A voucher-based grant for eligible organisations installing chargepoints for staff and visitors. The organisation applies, receives a voucher, and then books an eligible installer within the voucher period.

Designed for
Business, Charity, Public-sector organisation, School / education provider, Fleet operator
Potential support
350 pounds per eligible socket, up to the published socket cap per applicant.
Key considerations
Eligible registered businesses, charities and public-sector organisations, with off-street parking, designated staff or fleet use, and an eligible installer. Charging is not permitted to be used to generate revenue from the general public under the scheme rules.

EV charging funding questions

More answers about how we work

The most expensive mistake

Starting the installation before an approval is in place. Where a grant is claimed, an installation completed first is normally not made eligible afterwards — and the installer has to be eligible under the scheme as well as competent.

Tell us where the charging will go

The parking, the supply and the consent decide the route. Send the details and we will confirm the technical position before anything is ordered or applied for.

We use your details to respond to this enquiry only. We do not apply for funding on your behalf, and we do not decide whether you are eligible.

Already have renewable assets?

Funding is not the only opportunity. Understanding the condition, safety and performance of existing solar, battery or charging assets could identify problems, risks and optimisation opportunities — particularly where an installation has never been independently inspected.
