Workplace EV charging grants

A workplace charging project is an electrical infrastructure project with a charger on the end of it. Funding may be available through a voucher scheme for eligible organisations, subject to scheme criteria and approval.

We deliver the whole sequence — funding check, survey, capacity assessment, design, installation, commissioning and ongoing management — as one accountable package.

Government infrastructure grant

Details pending confirmation

EV infrastructure grant for staff and fleets

A grant route aimed at the enabling infrastructure behind multiple chargepoints - the cabling, containment and distribution work that makes a larger installation possible - rather than the chargepoints themselves.

Designed for
Business, Charity, Public-sector organisation, Fleet operator
Potential support
Published as a percentage of eligible infrastructure cost, subject to a cap.
Key considerations
Eligible organisations with off-street parking and a planned multi-chargepoint installation. The infrastructure works and the chargepoints are assessed under the scheme's own rules.

Designed for
Business, Charity, Public-sector organisation, School / education provider, Fleet operator
Potential support
350 pounds per eligible socket, up to the published socket cap per applicant.
Key considerations
Eligible registered businesses, charities and public-sector organisations, with off-street parking, designated staff or fleet use, and an eligible installer. Charging is not permitted to be used to generate revenue from the general public under the scheme rules.

What you need to know

The delivery sequence

Charging installations fail on the electrical side far more often than on the charger side. Our sequence starts with capacity, not hardware, so the design is settled before anyone orders equipment.

  • Funding: confirm which route applies and what it requires
  • Survey: supply, earthing, distribution and cable routes
  • Design: charger positions, containment, protection and labelling
  • Capacity: maximum demand, load management or a supply upgrade
  • Installation and commissioning, with the certificates and handover
  • User management and maintenance once the site is live

Where a voucher scheme bites

Voucher schemes are time-limited and procedural: the organisation applies first, the voucher is issued, and the installer has a window to complete the work. Starting before the voucher exists, or using an installer who is not eligible, normally voids the claim.

The indicative calculator below uses only the published per-socket figure held in our funding database. It is not a quotation and not a decision.

Charging staff without creating a problem

Unmanaged charging can push a site past its agreed capacity. Load management keeps the installation inside the existing supply, which is usually far cheaper than a network upgrade — and it is a design decision, not a setting to fix later.

Worked out from published figures

What the published support could add up to

The calculator multiplies the number of sockets by the per-socket figure held in our funding database, and stops at the published cap. It does not model your project cost, because eligible costs are decided by the scheme.

Indicative funding calculator

Enter the number of charging sockets you are considering. The figure uses the published per-socket support held against Workplace Charging Scheme — nothing else.

Indicative maximum support

Indicative funding only. Actual grant depends on scheme eligibility, eligible project costs and approval. It is not a quotation, and it does not represent what an installation will cost.

A scheme not listed here?

We only publish routes we can point to a source for. If you have seen funding mentioned elsewhere, send it to us and we will check the current position rather than guess.

Already have renewable assets?

Funding is not the only opportunity. Understanding the condition, safety and performance of existing solar, battery or charging assets could identify problems, risks and optimisation opportunities — particularly where an installation has never been independently inspected.
