Fire, security & data infrastructure
Life safety, security and data delivered as one coordinated package
Fire detection, security systems and structured cabling all occupy the same ceilings, risers and comms rooms. Coordinating them under one contractor removes the gaps between packages.
We design, install, commission and maintain BAFE-certificated fire systems, integrated security, and tested structured cabling for commercial and industrial buildings.

The position
Fire detection, security and structured cabling occupy the same ceilings and risers — delivered as one coordinated package, with the documentation an insurer will ask for later.
Where multi-package projects lose control
When fire, security and data are separate contracts, coordination becomes someone else's problem. Ceiling space is contested, risers are filled in the wrong order, and commissioning dates slip against each other.
Life safety also carries a documentation burden that outlasts the project. The building needs a logbook that an insurer or enforcing authority will accept years later.
What that looks like on site
- Systems designed in isolation from the building's fire strategy.
- Commissioning certificates that exist but cannot be found.
- Maintenance inherited from a contractor with no record of what was installed.
What we deliver
Scope of works
The boundaries matter as much as the content. If something sits outside our scope, we say so before the project starts.
- 01
Fire detection and alarms
Design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of addressable systems across the L1 to L5 categories, plus beam detection and air sampling for high spaces.
- 02
Emergency lighting
Design, installation and periodic testing to BS 5266, integrated with the fire strategy.
- 03
Security systems
IP CCTV, access control, intruder detection and door entry, integrated with the building's management systems where required.
- 04
Structured cabling
Cat6 and Cat6a installation, fibre termination, cabinet build, testing and certification, and comms room fit-out.
- 05
Integration
AOV, door hold-open, plant shutdown and BMS interfaces coordinated with the fire strategy.
- 06
Maintenance
Planned servicing, logbook management and reactive attendance, with defects recorded and closed out.

Process
How the project runs
- 1
Assess
Existing system review, building risk profile and the category your premises actually requires.
- 2
Design
Detection design, zone planning, device selection and interface schedule coordinated with other trades.
- 3
Deliver
Installation planned around building occupation, with containment and cabling sequenced with the electrical package.
- 4
Verify
Commissioning certification, logbook handover and a maintenance regime that keeps the record complete.
Standards
What this work is measured against
The standards and certifications that govern the work, and the basis on which we expect to be held.
- BS 5839-1
- Design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of fire detection and alarm systems in non-domestic premises.
- BAFE SP203-1
- Third-party certification covering design, installation, commissioning and maintenance.
- BS 5266
- Emergency lighting.
- BS EN 50173 / 50174
- Structured cabling design and installation practice.
Considerations
What tends to go wrong
Being explicit about risk is more useful than promising that nothing will happen.
Category mismatch
A system designed for the previous use of a building may no longer be adequate. Change of use triggers a fresh assessment.
Unwanted alarms
Detector selection for dusty, steamy or high spaces is the difference between a working system and an isolated one.
Record gaps
Without a maintained logbook, compliance becomes a reconstruction exercise at the worst possible time.
